The journey combines lodge nights with simple shore camps. Distances grow gradually, while two reserve windows let the group wait out unsuitable swell without compressing later crossings.

Meeting point

Meet at Sandnessjøen harbor at 11:30 on day one for equipment fitting and the first sheltered-water session.

A route with breathing room

  1. Days 1–2

    Fit and ferry lanes

    Fit boats and safety equipment, review local traffic patterns, and complete two short crossings from a sheltered base.

  2. Days 3–6

    The island thread

    Travel between skerries with one lodge reset, choosing camp shores only after wind direction and landing conditions are checked.

  3. Days 7–9

    Open sound and return

    Use the best weather window for the broadest crossing, then return through protected channels and clean, dry, and review the equipment.
